Cogeneration is a process that simultaneously produces mechanical/electrical energy and thermal energy. The benefit of cogeneration lies in its lower consumption of primary energy compared with separate production: lower costs for the company and a reduction in environmental pollution.
Trigeneration is an efficient production system combining electricity, heating and cooling by one single plant. Compared with the production of just heat and electricity, trigeneration takes full advantage of the plant’s potential in both winter and summer.
